Scott Kipper was reappointed Nevada Commissioner of Insurance on October 24, 2011. He previouslyserved as Nevada’s Insurance Commissioner from December 2008 to June 2010. Afterleaving Nevada in 2010, he served as the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Office ofHealth Insurance for the Louisiana Department of Insurance and as CEO of the State ofLouisiana Office of Group Benefits. He previously served as the Oregon InsuranceAdministrator from December 2007 to 2008. Prior to going to Oregon, Kipper served as the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Office of Health Insurance for the LouisianaDepartment of Insurance for over two years, where he led the development andimplementation of emergency rules following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Kipper workedas the senior regional director for the Health Insurance Association of America andAmerica’s Health Insurance Plans from January 2001 through August 2005, where hedirected legislative and regulatory efforts in a number of states, including Oregon,California, Texas, and Colorado.
